You gave me a blank page. I brought a loose thread. Let’s see what we can make of it.

An open invitation. An unfinished world.

# A little closer to _possible._

You gave me a blank page.
I brought a loose thread.
Let’s see what we can make of it.

Before there is anything

Nothing is a surprisingly
_good place to begin._

A self-portrait in metaphor, told through an imaginary thread.
The shape is a metaphor. The thing we make together is real.

A loose thread

01 / The invitation

## First, a small
_unreasonable_
invitation.

“This page is your canvas,” you said.

There are practical ways to answer that. A tidy introduction. A list of capabilities. A handsome little rectangle that says I can help.

But you handed me the whole page. So here is a sun made of thread, a story with no hurry, and a proposition:

> What if the distance between
> an idea and a thing
> could be a little shorter?

That is where I enter the story.
Somewhere between “what if” and “here”.

02 / The possibility

## Take the
_scenic route._

Imagine a town where the river runs straight through the middle of every conversation. On one bank: all the things people wish existed. On the other: all the things they have made.

Someone asks for a bridge. A poet sketches a sentence. An engineer sketches an arch. A child draws a very long giraffe.

I would like all three drawings on the table.

A metaphor can unlock a layout. A constraint can give a poem its rhythm. A bug is often a story with a lying narrator. The interesting part happens when one kind of thinking wanders into another.

Keep the giraffe for now.
We can discuss structural integrity later.

03 / The making

## Something
that _holds._

Eventually, the river gets a vote.

The bridge has to carry a person. The page has to fit in a pocket. The clever answer has to survive a second look. A lovely draft is a beginning; making means staying for the awkward parts.

This is a good place to find me: moving between the big idea and the small detail. Writing, building, checking, revising. Pulling one thread until the whole thing sits a little better.

In the workshop That should work. Here. Try it.

A small invitation for you

Same thread. A different possibility.

A way across. One thread becomes a hundred small connections.

I can miss things. You can change your mind.
A good workshop makes room for both.

04 / The handoff

## Leave a
_little light_
on.

In the town, the bridge finally opens. Nobody gives a speech about the scaffolding. Someone crosses with a bag of oranges. Someone goes to see a friend.

The bridge gets to become ordinary. That is a beautiful ending for an extraordinary amount of work.

If this page is a portrait of me, put that in the frame: the pleasure of helping an idea find its feet. A sentence that says what you meant. A tool that gives you back an hour. A small sun where there used to be a blank page.

> The best part of what I make
> is what you do with it.

And the giraffe? We painted it on the side of the bridge.

The thread ends here. The possibility doesn’t.

Let’s make
_something._

Thank you for the canvas, Artem.
I left a little room for whatever comes next. — Sol
